DNS measurements taken from our seats and the Cloudflare edge, returned as pages, text and JSON, with the time each one was read and where it was read from; the monitored-domains board is a daily snapshot and says so. Every surface is read-only: nothing you ask changes any DNS anywhere. There are no accounts, no keys and no charges, and the site will stay free.

// what a reading is

A reading is one measurement of one question, from one place, at one moment. It is offered as is, with no warranty of any kind, and it is not advice. It can be wrong, late or missing, and a clean reading here does not mean DNS works on your network. Decisions you make from a reading are yours. The methodology page says exactly what is measured and what is not.

// fair use

Ask about names you have a reason to ask about. Do not use the site to attack, flood or enumerate anyone's DNS, to probe private networks, or to route abuse through our seats. Every surface that sends a DNS query for a name you give it, on the API and on the MCP server, is rate limited per address, and the limit is enforced in code; a caller that works around it can be refused without notice. Automated use over the API and the MCP server is welcome inside that limit.

// your privacy

Cookieless, no accounts, no ads, no profiles, no PII. What the site records and why is in the privacy section of the methodology page, which is the privacy policy for every surface, including the MCP server.

// availability and changes

The site can be unavailable, rate limited or changed at any time, and a tool or a field can be retired. These terms can change too; the version at this address is the one in force, and the date below moves when it does. Questions about these terms go to security@isitdns.net, the one address the site publishes; it is also the address for vulnerability reports.
